Why brands choose our tea factory

Product lines we manufacture

How private label tea works with us

  1. Tell us the concept. A reference sample, a formula idea, or just a target consumer — we take any of the three.
  2. We develop the blend. Our team builds the recipe, you approve taste, aroma, and packaging.
  3. We manufacture and pack. Tea blending, bagging, boxing, and private labeling under one roof.
  4. We ship. Export documentation handled; 99.5% on-time dispatch on our Alibaba trade record.

A factory, not a trading company

Guangzhou Wansongtang Biological Technology Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wansongtang Health Group (founded 1996). Our Guangzhou company was established in 2011 and has manufactured teas and functional foods for other people's brands ever since — including 20 invention patents and around 20 new products developed every year.

On Alibaba, buyers rate us 4.6/5 across 53 reviews, with average response within 4 hours and over US$140,000 in online orders.

OEM vs ODM vs private label: which model fits your brand?

Buyers often use these three terms interchangeably, but they describe different levels of involvement — and different timelines. Understanding the difference helps you brief us accurately and avoid costly revisions later.

OEM (original equipment manufacturing) means you bring the formula. You already know your blend ratio, your flavor profile, or your botanical list, and you need a factory that can reproduce it consistently at scale, then pack it under your label. This is the fastest route when your recipe is settled, because development time is spent on matching your specification rather than creating one.

ODM (original design manufacturing) means we bring the formula. You describe the consumer, the market, and the benefit you want to claim — for example, a caffeine-free evening blend for the European market — and our R&D team proposes recipes for you to taste and approve. This is the right model if you want to launch quickly without building a formulation from scratch.

Private label usually refers to the packaging layer: finished product packed as your brand, with your artwork, your barcode, and your retail format. Private label can sit on top of either an OEM or an ODM formula.

In practice, most projects we run are hybrids. A brand may take an existing ODM blend, adjust one or two ingredients, and then private-label it in a pyramid bag inside a printed carton. Our job is to make those combinations straightforward rather than forcing you into a single box.

What to look for in a tea contract manufacturer

Not every supplier that quotes a tea bag price is equipped to be a long-term manufacturing partner. When you evaluate factories, these are the areas where problems usually surface later.

Certification coverage that matches your destination market. ISO9001 and ISO22000 speak to management systems and food safety. HACCP addresses hazard control. GMP standards matter for supplement-adjacent products. HALAL matters if you sell into Muslim-majority markets. FDA registration and export food enterprise filing matter for the United States and for Chinese export compliance respectively. Ask which of these apply to the specific line that will run your product.

In-house production rather than brokerage. A trading company can quote you a price, but it cannot control your lead time, your quality batch to batch, or your reformulation requests. A factory with its own clean workshops, production lines, and QA/QC staff can. Our 100,000-class clean workshops and 2 dedicated QA/QC inspectors exist precisely so that quality decisions are made on the floor, not outsourced.

Development capability, not just filling capacity. Ask how many new products the factory develops per year and whether it holds invention patents. A manufacturer developing around 20 new products annually and holding 20 invention patents is investing in formulation work, which is what protects your product from becoming a commodity.

Sample-to-production consistency. The sample you approve should be the product you receive. Ask how the factory documents approved samples and how QA/QC references them during production runs.

Export experience in your region. Labeling rules, claim restrictions, and packaging norms differ between North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. A manufacturer already exporting to 30+ countries has seen these variations before.

MOQ and ordering: what to expect

Minimum order quantities depend on the product format, because different formats consume different setup time on the line.

If you are launching a new brand, the practical approach is to start with a smaller retail-pack run to validate the market, then scale into bulk or larger packaging runs once the product proves itself. We quote bulk OEM separately because the cost structure is genuinely different from retail packing.

Formats and packaging options

We produce across a wide range of delivery formats, which means you can build a coherent product catalog from a single supplier rather than juggling multiple vendors.

Tea formats: pyramid bags, flat bags, string-and-tag bags, and loose leaf. Filter paper and PLA options are available depending on your positioning and your market's expectations around compostability.

Tea types: functional teas, flavor teas, and herbal teas — including slimming, detox, sleep, and women's health blends.

Other formats: instant powders, gummies, tablet candy, capsules, softgels, patches, and jelly. These let a tea brand extend into adjacent categories without changing manufacturers.

Brands we produce under: Winstown is our main export brand; Wansongtang and Daynee are also used. Your own brand sits alongside these as a private label program.

Development timeline and annual output

Typical development runs about 15 days from concept to finished product. That window covers recipe work, sampling, your approval, and packing. It assumes reasonably prompt feedback on samples; revisions extend the timeline.

Across a year we develop around 20 new products, supported by 20 invention patents. For brands, this matters in two ways. First, it means there is a library of existing concepts you can adapt rather than starting from zero. Second, it means reformulation requests — reducing sugar, swapping a botanical, adjusting a flavor — are routine work for our team rather than a special project.

Export markets and trade record

Our products ship to 30+ countries and regions across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. On Alibaba, our main markets are Africa at 50%, North America at 20%, and Southeast Asia at 10%.

Our trade metrics are public on our Alibaba storefront: a 4.6/5 rating across 53 reviews, average response within 4 hours, 99.5% on-time dispatch, and over US$140,000 in online orders. For first-time buyers, those numbers are a useful proxy for how a factory behaves when a shipment is under time pressure.

Working with us as a wholesale or distribution partner

Beyond private label, we operate as a wholesale supplier and as an OEM/ODM partner. If you are a distributor building a tea category, a retailer developing an own-brand line, or a brand owner extending from supplements into tea, we can structure the engagement around your volume and your packaging requirements. Business models we support include OEM, ODM, private label, and wholesale.

The cleanest way to start is to send us your brief: target market, target consumer, desired format, and any reference product. From there we can tell you which model fits, what the MOQ looks like for that format, and what the development timeline would be.
